Welcome back to Checkmark.
After going on hiatus at the start of the pandemic, Checkmark officially reopened in the Summer of 2024 with the creation of our annual Summer Reading Series!
The Series:
For two summers and counting, Checkmark has produced a reading series of three, new plays, each written and directed by artists of the global majority. Each play’s creative team is provided with rehearsal space, dramaturgical feedback from the Checkmark Staff, casting assistance, a public presentation for peers and industry professionals, and an hourly rate of $26/hr.
At its best, Checkmark gathers likeminded creatives around new work that pushes boundaries, and provides space where artists are both seen and challenged. Every year, our goal is to expand the community built around this work, and we hope you continue following along!
